We here at Kobold Quarterly would like to give a hearty kobold welcome to Marc Radle, who will take up the reins of art director. Marc, welcome to the crew!
Marc is a professional graphic artist and designer by trade. In his copious amount of spare time, he also does freelance illustration, writing, and graphic design. (sleep is highly overrated!) He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, teenaged son, and two very spoiled cats.
Marc started playing D&D as a kid in the late 70s—good old 1st Edition AD&D! He and his friends also played many other RPGs back then—Marvel Superheroes, Champions, Elfquest, FASA’s Star Trek, Star Frontiers, the list goes on—but it always came back to AD&D! Marc faded out of gaming sometime after 2nd Edition came out—partially because 2nd Edition just didn’t quite do it for him (he did play 2nd Edition a little though and certainly enjoyed some aspects of it) but also because his gaming friends all turned into grown-ups, got real lives, and moved away when Marc wasn’t looking!
The 3rd Edition of D&D really pulled Marc back into the hobby again, and he has since become a HUGE fan of the Pathfinder RPG.
Marc is fortunate enough to have worked with lots of great game companies, including Super Genius Games, Raging Swan Press, Last Unicorn Games (back in the day), Jon Brazer Enterprises, Tricky Owlbear Publishing, of course, Kobold Quarterly / OpenDesign.
He is extremely excited with his new role as Kobold art director—his graphics studio way in the back corner of the Kobold mines is almost set up (he just wishes the studio wasn’t quite so close to the bathroom!).

Congratulations Marc! Impressive list of work…
Is it just me or did you not also draw a couple of illos in “Shadowsfall” for John Brazer Enterprises? You weren’t credited in that either…
Thanks Morgan!
I do indeed have an illustration or two in the Shadowsfall Free RPG Day adventure. It, along with additional illustrations and a BUNCH of setting material I wrote, will be in their upcoming Shadowsfall products.
Congratulations, Marc!
Yay, Marc! Congrats!
You have a very awesome list of credits. :)
Congrats to Marc. I really do enjoy his artwork. I look forward to seeing more of it in the future.
Thank you, Morgan for mentioning Shadowsfall: Temple of Orcus. Like Marc said, Shadowsfall: Temple of Orcus is one of only 3 Pathfinder Compatible print book to hit game stores on 4 continents in a single day and Marc contributed 2 images to that book. (The other two books produced by LPJ Design and Gaming Paper.) He did an awesome job.
Congratulations Marc, a well deserved assignment!!!!!! The Kobolds got themselves an excellent catch for a new art director
Cool! So tell us about your music Marc.
This is great news! Many congrats, Marc! Huzzah! Well deserved. Kobold Quarterly is getting a talented staff member!
Way to go Marc! I know you’ve been working on Open Design stuff for a while, but this new assignment is great news!
Perhaps you can get those Reaper minis now Marc. Some crazy cats even put paint on them!
;)
Well done, Marc!
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!
@James: Wolfgang and I thought that picture might be more fum than a typical boring head shot:) It’s me back in the early ’90s when I was a rock star! It probably goes without saying I look a little different now;)
