Possibly the most awesome KQ10 review we will blurb all week comes from super-powered funnyman Wyatt Salazar over at The Spirits of Eden blog.
The Spirits of Eden: Kobold Quarterly #10 gave me some good times. We laughed together, we cried together, we wondered whether the Haffun racial power was really sexual innuendo. Do I regret spending the money on it? Actually, I don’t, in spite of coming in with a pretty negative attitude about the whole thing.
You know, reviews like this make me very happy. Sure, there are clearly things that the reviewer doesn’t like about the magazine, but he gambled on a new periodical, and he got something out of it. Sure, the Letters page is a pretty dour one for an editor, which is why I keep referring to it as “Dispatches and Complaints.” But the review just made me laugh and laugh, even as it was poking fun.
Thanks for the lulz, and thanks for the thumbs-up on KQ10. Now if only we could get some letters for the next issue.
Thanks for the link, I’m very glad you enjoyed! The content that I did enjoy was more than worth any apprehensions I had about purchasing magazines.
Also, I’m quite proud that the snarky anime girl face of Senjogahara Hitagi is now gracing a Kobold Quarterly post. It was all worthwhile.
