Yes, it’s only February, but when you’re in the business of games, February means two things:
1) You can’t get anything printed in China.
2) It’s time to get ready for convention season.

Increasingly, for game companies of a certain age, it also means that it’s time to plan your own convention. And since Kobold Press turns 18 this year (more on that soon), it’s time to go!

Kobold Con 2024

This year marks the first annual (that’s right, we said annual) online convention, Kobold Con. May 10–12, 2024. On the big internet.

We’ll feature select Tales of the Valiant RPG projects, tease what we’ve got coming in the rest of 2024, and maybe talk some of 2025 too. (We’ll see how loose-lipped our publisher, Wolfgang Baur, feels.) You’ll hear what to expect in future crowdfunding campaigns and a dive into new tabletop products available in 2024.

The event premieres with the Kobold Showcase live-streamed event available. The showcase will feature announcements and first looks at the Tales of the Valiant RPG virtual tabletop and digital options available for purchase digitally for the very first time.

Throughout the weekend, Kobold Press will also host the first official Tales of the Valiant online Organized Play event, highlighting VTT partners, including Shard, Alchemy, and Foundry, and revealing the official Valiant 6 characters.

At the end of the Kobold Con weekend, Kobold Press will host a live stream charity actual play, raising funds for the brand-new Kobold Press Gaming Scholarship. This scholarship will be given annually to a student entering collegiate studies of pen and paper game design. Kobold Press will match donations throughout the weekend, ensuring a new game design student is fostered into our industry.
