Deep Below the Earth

Deep Below the Earth

The 4th Edition D&D work for Halls of the Mountain King is well underway, and here’s some of the recent progress:

  • the brainstorming for the Gazetteer brought a lot of new and old ideas to the forefront. I have an outline.
  • the level range has been set at 8 to 10 or 8 to 11 (the finale should push characters into the Paragon tier).
  • the first two new monsters have been created
  • patrons are gearing up to playtest those new creatures

I’m very happy with the discussion of elites/solos and minions and how they will change the encounter design from the 3E/OGL versions. We also have two designers returning to revamp their adventures in the new edition, Ben McFarland and Dan Voyce.

In other words, we’re ahead of schedule. If you’d like to support Halls of the Mountain King and participate in the brainstorms and discussion, please sign up now. It’s looking even better than Wrath of the River King.
