A frown perpetually clouds the face of this graceful alseid, and an impressive rack of antlers crowns his head. His humanoid torso and arms are tattooed in sepia, blue, and black with an owl, tree, and rose motif. A cloak of owl feathers settles on his shoulders, and a stryx can usually be found settling on his back or flying a short distance above him.
Aggressive Forester. The stryx living in the Old Margreve keep watch over its roads and paths and deliver news of interesting characters and events to the druid Bellisaromir. The young alseid shadows creatures his friends point out to him, ostensibly to make sure they don’t despoil the forest, but in truth, he hopes they do things he can take offense to. Bellisaromir likes to fight, and he isn’t ashamed to use his skills and knowledge of the forest to gain advantage over people he goads into conflict. Every time he sees city folk perish in the forest, he exults at the small victory of the old ways over civilization.
Rot and Rebirth. Bellisaromir believes he is a part of the Margreve’s life cycle, and he takes his duties seriously. When he comes across gravely injured creatures, regardless whether they are man, beast, or something else entirely, he dispatches them. He then ensures the body is left in a manner and place where its decomposition is quick, so the forest can grow stronger. Over the years, he has gained the unflattering nickname Ghoul of the Old Wood from frequent travelers of the forest.
Characteristics
Personality Trait. Others seek the gods in temples and shrines, but I know their will is only revealed in the natural world, not an edifice constructed by so-called worshippers. I pray in the woods, never indoors.
Ideal: Cull. The weak must be removed for the strong to thrive.
Bond. I know the ways of civilization rise and fall. The forest and the Old Ways are eternal.
Flaw. The decay after death is merely the loam from which new growth springs—and I enjoy nurturing new growth.
