Rogue’s Gallery: Galdvyr Steadystone

Galdvyr stands just over seven feet tall and is covered in dark brown and gray fur. His body is crisscrossed with scars, including a prominent one stretching from his right shoulder to his left hip. People shift uncomfortably as he appraises them with bright, piercing black eyes.

Grizzled Guide. In all his forty-eight years, Galdvyr Steadystone has never ventured farther south than Vellarsheim in the Duchy of Domovogrod. He has spent over thirty years as a guide in the Northlands, directing travelers and merchants from his home of Bjeornheim through the treacherous lands of the Vargrike and Trollheim to Huldramose. His many years of experience have placed a high demand for his services, which results in bidding wars during the summer when mercantile traffic is at its peak.

Hunter of the Damned. During his many northern crossings, Galdvyr has successfully led numerous expeditions through encounters with its many dangers, such as giants, werewolves, and fey. None of those creatures bedevil him as much as the walking dead though. Galdvyr despises vampires in particular, viewing them as unnatural parasites. He has a dream of traveling to Krakova to free it from its undead oppressors but remains in the north to ensure his family continues to thrive. If an opportunity to destroy undead arises during a rare foray without charges to care for, Galdvyr has been known to alter his path in order to come into conflict with them.

Characteristics

Personality Trait. I don’t waste nature’s bounty, and I dislike those who do.

Ideal. Honesty. My word is my bond.

Bond. I’m keeping something safe in my wanderings by always keeping it moving from place to place.

Flaw. If there’s a choice between the easy way and the hard way, the hard way is always best. Easy is for the weak and incompetent.
