If there’s one thing we Kobolds love about our Kickstarters, it is releasing a fantastic preview PDF and giving you something meaty to chomp on Day 1 of the campaign. Today, we’re cracking open the new Game Master’s Guide (GMG) Preview PDF and showing you just how easy it is with the GMG to repurpose a provided monster template into something that fits in your games immediately!
We’re making sure our Game Master’s Guide provides a suite of tools that help you take your game beyond the basics of what a GM can find in the Tales of the Valiant Player’s Guide and 5E core rulebooks. These tools give GMs the power to craft incredible, original stories. They give the flexibility to roll with whatever players bring to the table.
Perhaps your adventurers took a detour and dived into the ocean depths to find an “abandoned” underwater ruin. Little do they know, thanks to the GMG templates, you’ve quickly prepped a horde of undead merfolk who lie in wait for intruders. Your adventurers might have expected a tangle with some hostile fish or a tangle of seaweed, but these undead guardians of an ancient ruin have taken them by surprise!
Take a first look at the merfolk from the Tales of the Valiant Monster Vault and the customized stat block using the Undead Skeleton template from the GMG Preview.
Is it just my browser or is the Download button not working right now?
From what I see in the browser console the button doesn’t have a function yet.
Ok whew, not just me.
Downloads are fixed!

One change i would like is many monster types.
This undead merfolk should be Undead/Fish/Humanoid. its one the things i would like to see as i want spells that effect beasts to effect celestial beasts, but not celestials of other types. With that adding common resistances.
Like imagain tormenting your party with a saint (Celestial/Undead) Cleric Lich and then stuggling as radient magic aint touching this thing ethier.
