August 2023 was a huge, exciting month for Kobold Press. Let’s fondly reminisce about the highlights and make plans for the month ahead!
August in Our Rearview
So much happened in August, we might have forgotten some of it. Luckily, we wrote things down!
Wastes of Chaos Lands in Stores
Wastes of Chaos and Tales from the Wastes are happily in the hands of Backers and available in the Kobold Press store now. This two-book collection ensures players and GMs have everything they need to build and play in their own post-apocalyptic, eldritch 5E game.
Gen Con 2023 . . . Best Ever?
Gen Con 2023 was a huge success! Over eight hundred books found their way to new homes, and we doubled the size of our community games. Over four days, we saw 57 GMs run five adventures over 367 game slots for more than 2000 players! We’re already making plans for next year. You can read our full Gen Con 2023 recap here.
Black Flag Roleplaying Game Partners
After 367 tables of Tales of the Valiant playtesting at Gen Con 2023, it was time to release our final public playtest packet: Clerics. Our Black Flag Roleplaying game partners have also been hard at work. Dungeon Scribe finished their Magical Oddities Kickstarter campaign with great success and Frog Gog Games launched their first Kickstarter campaign for a Tales of the Valiant compatible book, Tome of Horrors: Enemies of the Valiant. Check it out on Kickstarter now!
Next Up For Kobold Press
You’d think that would be enough, but September came calling, and we just couldn’t say no.
Campaign Builder: Castles & Crowns
The next installment in the Campaign Builder series comes to Kickstarter in September! If you loved Campaign Builder: Cities and Towns, you won’t want to miss this new addition to your Kobold library, Campaign Builder: Castles & Crowns.
This book gives players and game masters will find everything they need to build and grow kingdoms for 5E and Tales of the Valiant RPG campaigns! With toolkits for kingdoms, noble family options, and new character builds, your campaign will go from the tavern to the throne room. Sign up now to be notified once the Kickstarter goes live!
