Written by Wolfgang Baur for the Open Design Project 4, you will attempt to learn the fate of the Gravebinder’s Daughter… why did she disappear? What happened to her? Can she be saved? Recovered? Or is she lost to the terrible appetites of the sands? Will you be joining her? Sit down, effendi, and listen to my tale.

The sound of metal screeching and groaning cuts through the morning calm as the Puffing Bridge rises quickly, allowing a tall ship to pass up or downriver. The screeching stops, and a distant voice calls out “Lower away!”
The bridge is silent; it stands open, and the city is divided until it is restored. In one short hour, the miners and merchants will throng the streets. What’s wrong at the bridge? A race against destruction for Pathfinder characters of 4th level.

For twenty years, Mesikämmen, King of Bears, has defeated every challenger at his annual contest for Bjeornheim’s throne. Better known as Old Honey Paws, the crafty king devises new tests each year for participants from the Northlands to the far reaches of Midgard. Hoping to lure new challengers, Old Honey Paws sweetened the pot this year with an offer to share some of his own secrets with those who survive into the latter rounds.
The PCs are part of an eclectic mix of challengers who make their way to the Gloaming Crag. Events begin at a chaotic welcome banquet that feels like one part carnival and one part cage match. For clever roleplayers or devious spellcasters, it offers opportunities to learn about potential adversaries and divine details about Mesikämmen’s tests.
