After judging hundreds of submissions and going through five rounds of critique and voting, the RPG Superstar contest is down to the wire. There are four contenders remaining:
- Dragonrest Isle by Kevin Carter
- Denying the Boiling Beast by Matthew Stinson
- Realm of the Fellnight Queen by Neil Spicer
- Last Ride of the Mammoth Lords by Eric Bailey
Each of their adventure pitches is flawed in some way, but they are worth your attention just to see how freelancers put together a proposal. Better still, each comes with commentary by four judges: James Jacobs and Sean K. Reynolds of Paizo, Clark Peterson of Necromancer Games, and me. It’s a chance to see what really makes a pitch click or fail.
Check out the contest, and vote for your favorite (The winner gets a contract to write an adventure for Paizo). It’s a pretty damn cool way to break into the business.
