Here’s a sneak peek at of one of the new NPCs from Wastes of Chaos, Djer Huskel’s Abomination!
Important Abominable Facts
Dull steel plates and clockwork mechanisms have been fused with the stitched flesh of an uncountable number of creatures to create an unsettling figure of meat and metal. When spoken to, the mortal-machine construct responds in a voice that is both delicate and resonant. Its gears tick rhythmically as they turn.
Before she died and was rebuilt by her obsessed husband, the creature now known as Djer Huskel’s abomination was a beloved singer and performer.
She was killed in the collapse of the performance hall that destroyed much of her body. Djer Huskel called upon his mastery of necromancy and engineering to preserve her and construct her a new, more durable body of corpses and clockworks.
When animated the result, he was horrified by the unrecognizable creature that spoke in his dead wife’s voice.
When confronted by other creatures, the abomination is as likely to start out aggressively as it is to be benign. If it happens across a source of music, it stops all activities and listens in place until the music ceases, wherein it becomes active again.
