- A collection of vials containing blood. Each one has a pink label with a name on it.
- Someone left rare, deadly mushrooms on the altar.
- A cocoon containing the Death’s March butterfly is on the altar—soon it will release a butterfly the size of a human.
- Someone planted a series of trees around the altar and decorated the branches with fingers and toes from beings of all kinds.
- A simple list has been attached to the altar. Are the names on it for people who are living or dead?
- A carved wooden box has a note on it that reads as follows: “If you take this to the next such altar—unopened—you will receive a boon from the Death God.”
- Someone trapped elementals within glass spheres and placed them around the altar. All types of elementals are present.
