Shifting Spirits and Warped Flesh!

Almost 500 years ago, Gorgol the Feculent—a dark sorcerer of great power—was murdered by adventurers at Moonfall Keep. Gorgol’s lust for life and remorseless evil were not so easily snuffed though, and his soul permeated his remains, so when the rats came to devour him, they were changed, each gaining a fragment of his mind and linking them to one another. Thus Gorgol was reborn! A hive mind of rats intent on seeking revenge was trapped within the walls, anchored by the same magics that carried him on. And so, he waited until a strange ally arrived, and after a wait of centuries, a small cult gathered and grew.
Now Gorgol has set forth with his plan. Each week, a villager is kidnapped and brought to the tower, where they are subject to gruesome experimentation. Gorgol’s growing influence has even attracted several followers who have begun worshipping him. Now, with a spree of unsolved kidnappings and his own son among those missing, the mayor of the village of Rumdel is desperate for help….

Great adventure! I worked this into an ongoing campaign with great success. I love the new magical item, crown of flesh melding. So much potential with that one.
