Adventures are solid, but the player maps are disappointingly low-res. PDF is seems poorly optimized, a step down from previous Kobold products.

  2. Head Kobold

Thanks for your comment! We’ve uploaded a new version of the Player Map file, with what we hope is a a much better optimization.

  3. Grant Ellis

This volume is an excellent resource for substitute dungeon masters, learning dungeon masters, dungeon masters with little prep time, or dungeon masters who run at conventions. It compliments existing Kobold Press products such as the Tome of Beasts, Prepared!, and the Book of Lairs.

The inclusion of maps help for the combat encounters and can be recycled for use in your own home campaign.

  4. Gaetan Voyer-Perrault

I got the Print + PDF version for Holiday 2017 and this has been a very good resource. I’ve already used a pair of dungeons successfully and they’ve spawned lots of real follow-ups. The compressed player maps are also quite nice.

    Some obvious notes:
    – You probably want Tome of Beasts for the right experience. The content is OGL, but not widely reproduced, so you need the original.
    – The level ranges are tight and there’s not really any scaling advice provided. So if you have 6 players instead of 4, then the combats are all too easy and it’s not always clear what piece to fix.

  5. Kenneth Evans

Solid adventures but I have the PDF version and I hope there is an errata because the ‘shark-tooth crown’ is missing from the Appendix (ref Page 21).

  6. Mcelyea.Jason

Yea, same as Kenneth. i bought the physical book from a LGS and found that the adventure i was keen on running (neither by sail nor oar) has an item reference missing, that shark-tooth crown is NOT in the appendix from what i can find, and all the pages seem to be present. Do we know what that item is?

  7. hamunces

Adventures are fine, the PDF is beyond laggy however, takes a minute to change pages at some points. PDF reader is using 500mb of ram to load the thing…
